| As Congregationalists, we believe it is the purpose and obligation of the congregation to govern its own affairs, working closely with the Ministers. We are entirely self funded and count on the active involvement of our members to support the activities and programs that make GHCC the perfect Church home for so many.
To this end, GHCC has a very robust and active Committee Structure to help address its operational needs. We conduct an annual Stewardship Campaign, and based on pledged contributions, build our annual program to meet needs. It is our financial goal to break-even on an annual basis. We are also supported by the income from a modest investment portfolio. We are especially grateful to the endowed gifts, bequests and special donations of our membership. We conduct an Annual meeting every January for the Congregation to approve the operating plan for the upcoming year.

The Executive Committee consists of the chairpersons of the following Boards - Deaconesses, Junior Deacons, Deacons, Trustees, Women's Guild, Christian Education and Mission. Also, the Pastors, the Director of Christian Education (ex officio), the Treasurer, the Clerk and a Chair Person.
The purpose and duties of the Executive Committee are to take action on recommendations from the boards and committees, make suggestions for future needs of the Church and monitor progress and accomplishment of goals submitted.
Boards:
Christian Education: Dianna Cutler, Chairperson
Our Christian Education Board oversees all educational programs of the church, from our two-year-olds' Church School class right through to adult Bible Studies and classes. Working with Marcia Carothers, the Board organizes programming and special educational events, and always welcomes ideas from the membership at large!
Deaconesses: Lynn Van Winkle, Chairperson
The Board of Deaconesses plays a very important part in our church life. In addition to greeting at church services, placing and delivering alter flowers, and updating tract rack selections, each Deaconess has a Special Care person that she visits on an on-going basis. Easter lilies and Christmas cookies are delivered to many parishioners and meals are furnished upon request. The Antependia (colored cloth hangings on pulpit and lectern) are changed to correspond with the church calendar. Minister's robes, alter vases and candles are also under our care.
Deacons: Mike Howard, Chairperson
A primary duty of the Board of Deacons is to support our Ministers in overseeing the Sunday worship services. Deacons are active in chancel, greeting and communion duties. Sundays are an opportunity to monitor attendance, greet new and familiar faces and caringly listen to congregational concerns and joys. The Board of Deacons also has a Memorial Gifts Committee and a Pastoral Relations Committee.
Mission: George Richards, Chairperson
The Board of Mission is charged with the responsibility of disbursing church funds for mission work near and far. Meeting each month to review the requests of charitable organizations, the Board makes grant decisions that support local, national, and international charities. A complete list of the organizations our church supports through the work of the Mission Board is available on the 'Mission and Outreach' page.
Junior Deacons:
Junior Deacons at Greenfield Hill Church are high school juniors and seniors with a special enthusiasm for serving their church! Junior Deacons can be found teaching Sunday School, leading worship on Sundays and 'Second Saturdays', organizing special kids' programs, and taking on service projects for the good of the church and community. They're a group of which we're very proud!
